The magazine Hair and Beauty organises a cover page competition in late summer every year. The competition is open to hairdressers, make-up artists, photographers and fashion designers. The competitors turn in photos that are judged by a panel of three professionals in the field. All the photos that are submitted are published in the magazine, along with the competitors name. The winning picture is, as the name implies, published on the cover of the magazine.

Ingibjörg Reynisdóttir won the competition in 1996. She did the make-up with No Name Cosmetics but the hair was done by Selma at the Primadonna saloon. The photographer is Bragi Þ. Jósefsson.
